TV’s Best Bromances
Chemistry. That rarest of on-screen sizzle every TV exec hopes they’ll get when they pair up their stars on screen.
It makes for great TV, and arguably never more so than when it’s a bromance.
Here’s our favourite top five. If you agree, or if you don’t, let us know!
- Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher
Way back when, these footballing titans were sworn enemies on the pitch. Now their playing days at Manchester United and Liverpool are over, this duo have taken their chemistry from the pitch to our screens on Monday Night Football and we love it.
Here are their top five best moments; oh the bants!
- Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks
An unlikely match, but one that has warmed our hearts is the bromance between Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson and TOWIE cast member Pete Wicks. After finding each other on Celebs Go Dating, the pair now can’t stop talking about each other on social media, can be frequently found on joint nights out and have even been known to enjoy a bath together!
Speaking to new! Magazine, Pete said: “I hate saying nice things about Sam because he gets all f**king giddy about it and it’s aggravating, but he is possibly one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. He’s the kind of person who would give you his last Rolo.’
Now if that wasn’t true bromance, we’re not sure what is!
- Jack Whitehall and Freddie Flintoff
Since A League Of Their Own hit our screens in 2010, it’s been a highlight of our week. When comedian Jack Whitehall joined the panel, it was soon clear there was instant chemistry with former cricketer, Freddie Flintoff. In fact, this loved up pair’s bromance has gone from strength to strength as viewers of A League Of Their Own: US Road Trip will know all too well from this scene in the woods.
- Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds
Two of Hollywood’s most famous Marvel alumni have long enjoyed winding each other up, in one of our favourite friendships. Followers on social media of Deadpool and Wolverine AKA Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will be familiar with their attempts to poke fun at each other over the years, with the ‘feud’ even spilling over into the Deadpool films.
Yeah it’s all for our entertainment and they are clearly great friends, but we love it all the same.
Here’s their latest effort.
- Chris and Kem
With Love Island back on our screens, we think back fondly to all the couples that came out of it. Well, you might need to give us a moment on that one…
One pair that have defied all expectation and stood the test of time is kings of the modern bromance, Chris and Kem. Since meeting on the show in 2017, the paid have released a single, been on the run in Celebrity Hunted and even starred in their own show, You vs Chris & Kem.
“We don’t know what it is,” the pair told Digital Spy in a recent chat when asked why they have such great chemistry. “I think that’s what makes it so special, because we are just genuinely best mates.”
If you’re ready to get addicted to another season of Love Island, make sure to stock up on your favourite Hungry Joes meal so you can spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying island life!
